Students and Grants

Students

Training

A limited number of seats in each session of the Training Program are reserved for full-time students at the very special rate of $200 per day. This special fee is not transferable. Your current student ID must be validated before registering. Please sign in to your account or register for an account to upload your student ID for validation.

Conference Program

Full-time students may attend the LISA14 Conference Program for only $150 per day. This special fee is not transferable. Your current student ID must be validated before registering. Please sign in to your account or register for an account to upload your student ID for validation.

Grants

Student Grants for Conference Attendance, sponsored by Microsoft Research and USENIX

A limited number of student grants are available to pay for travel, accommodations, and registration fees to enable full-time students to attend the conference. To apply for a grant, visit the LISA14 Student Grant Application or visit the USENIX student grant Web page for more tips and guidelines for applying for a grant. Applications are due by Monday, October 13, 2014 at 11:59 pm PST. Notifications of awards will be sent via email prior to the October 20th Early Bird Registration Deadline.

LISA14 Grants for Women, sponsored by Google and craigslist

As part of its ongoing commitment to encourage women to excel in this field, we are pleased to announce the return of the Google Grants for Women to support female computer scientists interested in attending the LISA14 conference. All female computer scientists from academia or industry are encouraged to apply.

Four women will be selected from the applicants to receive $700 US to apply toward travel/accommodation costs. Applications are due by Monday, October 13, 2014 at 11:59 pm PST. Notifications of awards will be sent via email prior to the October 20th Early Bird Registration Deadline.

Eligibility:

  • Be a female working in or studying Computer Science or a related field
  • Attend at least two full days of the main Conference Program
  • Agree to being contacted by Google about future events and opportunities
