Now in its third year, LEET continues to provide a unique forum for the discussion of threats to the confidentiality of our data, the integrity of digital transactions, and the dependability of the technologies we increasingly rely on.

HotStorage ‘10 aims to bring together researchers interested in presenting their thoughts and engaging in discussions on advancements in file and storage systems design.

APT -- Both hype and reality

The Advanced Persistent Threat, or APT, sounds exactly like more marketing
hype. And in many cases APT is just a term used to squeeze out more Federal
dollars for security software and hardware. But APT is more than just hype.

The submission deadline for the 2nd USENIX Workshop on Hot Topics in Cloud Computing (HotCloud '10) is quickly approaching.

Please submit your work by Tuesday, March 23, 2010.

HotCloud '10 seeks to identify new and emerging "hot" trends in the area of cloud computing, including the design, implementation, and deployment of virtualized clouds. Share your experience and discuss challenges with top researchers and practitioners.

USENIX In Cooperation Event: VEE 2010

The 2010 ACM SIGPLAN/SIGOPS International Conference on Virtual Execution Environments (VEE'10) will be held March 17-19, 2010 at Sheraton Station Square Pittsburgh, PA, USA.  The conference immediately follows ASPLOS XV at the same hotel.

Google exploit update; what no Flash?

Microsoft has published a critical security update, MS10-002, as
of Thursday, 21 January. They rushed out this patch that covers
seven different IE vulnerabilties, even as attackers were working
on converting the Google exploit so it succeeds against later
versions of IE.

USENIX TaPP '10 Program Available

Join us February 22, 2010, in San Jose, CA, for the 2nd USENIX Workshop on the Theory and Practice of Provenance (TaPP ‘10).

The TaPP workshop series builds upon a set of Workshops on Principles of Provenance organized in 2007–2009, which helped raise the profile of this area within diverse research communities, such as databases, security, and programming languages.
