For Good Measure: Paradigm

Whether cybersecurity is, or could become, a science is no easy question, and any seemingly easy answer is simplistic. We need a science of security, that much is sure. Yes, we are making, and have made, significant advances in technique, but there is no doubt that something more generative needs to come onto the scene. Consider, via Figure 1, six major advances in technique and their useful lifetime.
