The USENIX Board Nominating Committee seeks engaged, resourceful, and visionary leaders who will chart the future of the USENIX Association.
The biennial election of the USENIX Board of Directors will be held in the spring of 2026, and newly elected directors will take office on July 1, 2026. All eight directors stand for re-election every two years. This election determines the composition of the entire Board, including four officers (President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer), as well as four members-at-large.
The USENIX Board serves as the strategic arm of the organization, pairing with the Executive Director and USENIX staff to deliver world-class technical programming and support a wide variety of communities. A key role of the Nominating Committee is to ensure the Board represents that diversity when assembling the slate of candidates for the election.
Please consider recommending individuals for the Board election slate who will:
- Commit to furthering the USENIX mission and planning for the long-term sustainability of the organization.
- Dedicate up to 10 hours per month and attend select USENIX conferences.
- Strongly support and follow the USENIX Code of Conduct (CoC).
- Demonstrate leadership within a community that USENIX already serves, or within new and emerging communities USENIX should serve.
- Stay informed and active in shaping new technologies and/or tracking emerging trends.
- Bring creative visions of how USENIX should evolve to serve existing and new constituencies; collaborate with fellow board members to put those ideas into practice.
Self-nominations are welcome. If you are considering offering yourself for the Board slate, please keep in mind that membership on the Board of USENIX is meaningful work and a chance to make a lasting difference. It requires fortitude, vision, collaboration, and a strong understanding of at least one area USENIX covers.
If you are interested in running, wish to suggest nominees, or share feedback about current Board members, please contact us at [email protected] by November 3, 2025. The Nominating Committee will consider all recommendations, though not all submitted names may appear on the election slate. All correspondence will be held in confidence.
