Open access to scholarly papers continues to be a hot topic, as it should be. Back in April, I wrote about the USENIX open access policy. Since 2008, USENIX papers have been freely available and USENIX authors retain their copyright. Whereas other organizations are moving toward policies that require authors or institutions to pay a fee to make their papers open access, USENIX memberships support open access to USENIX papers and conference videos of paper presentations.
