;login:, the Magazine of USENIX, Gets a Makeover

Have you seen the April issue of ;login: magazine? If so, you probably noticed a new look. Don't worry — Rik Farrow is still rounding up the great articles and reports you've come to expect, but now you can see even more of them featured on the cover.

In January, I met with the USENIX editorial and production team in our Berkeley office and we worked on a new look that would be fresh, easy to read, and allow us to fit more content into each issue without making it feel cramped. Our production editor, Michele Nelson, was tasked with the giant assignment of taking all of our bits of feedback and translating them into an updated look.

I received my print issue in the mail last weekend and nervously flipped through it. I'm thrilled with the new look, but what readers think of it matters more. Luckily, we're already hearing from readers who are happy with the update. (Phew!)
