The System Administration Maturity Model - SAMM
Authors:
Carol Kubicki, Motorola Cellular Infrastructure Group
Abstract:
The Capability Maturity Model (CMM), published by the Software Engineering Institute, has been used by software development organizations to improve the processes used to develop software products. The System Administration Maturity Model (SAMM) is an adaptation of the CMM to make it more relevant for system and network administration organizations. The SAMM seeks to describe the key processes required for a system and network administration organization to flourish into higher levels of process maturity and enjoy the benefits associated with mature organizations such as high quality products and services produced on time, and within budget limits.
