12:00 pm–1:00 pm Luncheon for Attendees
12:30 pm–1:00 pm Introductions with a brief overview of peoples' current projects and background.
1:00 pm–1:45 pm Summary of current file and storage system work ongoing in the kernel, including a brief synopsis of how to contribute work to the kernel.
1:45 pm–2:00 pm Break
2:00 pm–3:00 pm Discussion of Linux support for persistent memory and academic research in this space.
3:00 pm–4:00 pm Linux file systems update: an overview of work and challenges in both kernel and distributed file systems.
4:00 pm–4:30 pm Coffee and Tea Break
4:30 pm–5:30 pm Support for new hardware—SMR drives, all flash, etc.—and the impact on storage systems.
5:30 pm–5:45 pm Break
5:45 pm–7:00 pm Round table on Linux kernel wishlist items: time for the non-kernel people to put forward their ideas and thoughts on how the kernel could be improved and how those improvements would help their specific project.
