This class covers those things you can change or add to the Solaris kernel without necessarily having access to the source code.

Topics will include:

	Overview of internals
	Tunable parameters
	The multi-threaded kernel
	Loadable system calls
	Loadable device drivers
	Loadable file systems
	Loadable scheduling classes

Simple working examples of some of the above features will be provided as source code. After taking this class, you will know how to change or add to the Solaris 2.x kernel, as well as understand the basic structure of the kernel.
