Asynchronous Notifications Among Distributed Object

Abstract
Distributed object systems typically support synchro- nous requests
from one distributed object to another. Often, a more decoupled style
of communication among distributed objects is appropriate. We describe
an object service called event channel that decouples distributed
object communication. We describe SunSoft's imple- mentation of the
event channel and illustrate its use in a stock trading application.
