Spinnaker Networks NAS Architecture: Clustered NAS for Large Systems

Many different NAS architectures exist in the marketplace today, some of which are simple NAS appliances, and others which are clustered NAS systems. New NAS architectures are replacing traditional NAS because the newer systems offer enterprises superior performance scaling and storage management.

Spinnaker Networks' SpinServer implements a clustered NAS system that most closely resembles a NAS switch. This architecture allows storage administrators to scale to much larger clusters than with other systems, to provide class of service management, and to perform dynamic and online cluster reconfiguration.

Michael Kazar, Chief Technology Officer of Spinnaker Networks, will describe the SpinServer architecture, its strengths and weaknesses compared to other NAS systems, and discuss where NAS architectures are going in the future.

People with opposing viewpoints are encouraged to come.
