LISA presents two awards. One, the Outstanding Achievement Award, goes to someone whose professional contributions to the system administration community over a number of years merit special recognition. It has been in existence since 1993.
The other, the Chuck Yerkes Award, founded in 2005, is presented annually to the person (or people) judged to have most significantly contributed to the mentoring of their peers through contributions on the various LISA member forums.
Since 2009, the Chuck Yerkes Award has been determined and presented by LOPSA.
