Bio
I am a doctoral student in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department at The George Washington University. I earned a BS degree from The University of the District of Columbia in 1992 and an MSE degree from The Johns Hopkins University in 1994, both in Computer Science.

In 1991 when I was selected as one of 22 students to attend a supercomputing course at Argonne National Laboratory. I continued research in this area as a Computer Scientist at the Space Data and Computing Division of the NASA-Goddard Space Flight Center during the summers of 1992,1993, and 1994. I used massively parallel computer systems to explore the use of neural networks for labeling remotely sensed data and develop a genetic algorithm software package that performs unsupervised classification of multidimensional remotely sensed images. During the summer of 1997, I worked as a Computer Scientist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in the Information Technology Laboratory, High Performance Systems and Services Division, Scalable Parallel Systems and Applications Group. The main objective I conducted research in the usability of parallel computers at NIST's Gaithersburg, MD and Denver, CO sites.

Upon completion of my doctoral studies, my career goals are to instruct post-secondary school level computer courses and conduct research that involves the integration of parallel and distributed systems and multimedia technologies.
