Judging from the submissions to COOTS '97, the topic of reliable distributed objects is hot: approximately 10% of the submissions to the conference described ways of making distributed objects reliable. This panel will consist of five presentations describing different approaches to making distributed objects reliable and fault-tolerant, intermixed with discussion concerning the pros and cons of each approach. Audience participation will be welcomed and highly encouraged.
