Join us for the 2nd annual Atlanta Linux Showcase! Our show will feature exhibitors showing the latest Linux hardware, software, books, magazines, CDROMs, tshirts and more. We will also have two full days of technical, advocacy and business talks by international speakers from the Linux, Free Software and Open Source community. In the evenings, we will have BOFs and a fundraiser dinner to keep you entertained.

This year's show will be held at the Atlanta Apparel Mart (part of the AmericasMart Atlanta exhibition and conference facilities) in downtown Atlanta, GA. Ample parking and a wide variety of hotels, public transportation and entertainment are available within walking distance.

Conference Sessions: Technical, advocacy and business talks by speakers from the Linux, Free Software and Open Source community. The cost is $75/day ($50/day for students/seniors) for a general admission conference pass.

FREE! Show Floor Attractions:

  • FREE! Keynote Addresses: Allen Miner, Oracle (Friday) and Dr. Michael Cowpland, Corel (Saturday).

  • FREE! Vendor Exhibits: exhibitors will be showing and selling their products on the show floor.

  • FREE! Linux In Action: showing a large variety of Linux software on multiple platforms (Alpha, Intel, PPC, SPARC) in action together. This is your chance to experience Linux hands-on! Atlanta Linux Enthusiasts (ALE) will staff the booth and will be on hand to demo software and answer questions.

  • FREE! Terminal Room: we'll have Linux workstations and ethernet connections with Internet access for you to use.

  • FREE! Demo Theatre: come see exhibitors demo their products.

  • FREE! Door Prizes: all attendees are eligible!

  • FREE! Birds-of-a-Feather Sessios (BOFs): informal, attendee-organized gatherings of people interested in a particular topic.

  • Food Court: will be open during show hours.

The 1998 Atlanta Linux Showcase is a not-for-profit event organized by the Atlanta Linux Enthusiasts (ALE) Users Group, with assistance from Linux International (LI).
