Balug Bay Area Linux User Group

Meeting Location and Times: Four Seas Restaurant (China Town) Third Tuesday of every month. The time is 1900 or (7:00 P.M.).

The meetings are opened with a very nice dinner of chinese food and then segue into a speaker section with a question and answer period following afterwards.

Description: BayLISA, a non-profit group based in the San Francisco Bay Area, helps system and network administrators improve their technical skills and offers a venue for professional fellowship. BayLISA hosts monthly meetings that are free and open to the public.

Berkeley Unix User Group (BUUG)

Meeting Location: We meet the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month, 7-9pm at Au Coquelet Cafe in Berkeley - convenient to BART/downtown/campus.

Description: We're a friendly support network for folks in/around Berkeley to learn and discuss LINUX, BSD, Solaris, and other Unix-type systems. We have open informal meetings (no preset agenda), and you are welcome to bring your questions/problems to ask the group. We also have a fairly active mailing list.

Consortium of All Bay Area Linux (CABAL)

Meeting Location and Times: 2nd and 4th Saturdays from 4pm to midnight, at 2033 Sharon Road near Alameda de las Pulgas, West Menlo Park.

Since early in 1997, CABAL has organized Linux / BSD installfests all over the Bay Area in cooperation with the other Linux and BSD groups, and has held twice-monthly meetings both to help people with *ix software problems and serve as a social focus for the Bay Area's open source community. Meetings are relaxed social occasions in addition to the technical aspects, and many participants bring food/drink to share, but doing so is not required or expected. Fast Internet access and installation media for dozens of current Linux distributions and BSDs are available for attendees' use, along with expert help.

Linux Users' Group of Davis (LUGOD)

Meeting Location and Times: We hold regular meetings on evenings of the third Monday of each month, with guest speakers and informative presentations. Locations vary; check for map and directions to the next meeting. LUGOD also holds other regular and semi-regular events and workshops, and maintains active mailing lists (some with over 200 subscribers) and an IRC channel for chatting. Meetings and membership are free, and open to the public.

Description: LUGOD is a 501(c)(7) non-profit club serving Davis and neighboring cities in Yolo, Solano, and Sacramento counties. We are a collection of over 400 people dedicated to GNU/Linux (a powerful, free, Unix-like operating system), Free Software, Open Source, and other related topics. Our goals are advocacy, education, support and socializing.
