USENIX WiAC G+ Hangout: Encouraging Women Speakers

Today I hosted a G+ hangout for the first time, which I also recorded and added to the USENIX YouTube channel**. In the hangout, I talked with Amber Graner, Carolyn Rowland, Chris St. Pierre, Margo Seltzer, and Selena Deckelmann. We talked about how to encourage women (and first-time speakers in general) to submit talk proposals for tech events. This is the first in what we hope will be a series of discussions on increasing the number of women and first-time speakers at tech events.

**Because this was my first hangout, and my background is in writing and editing, I had a big learning curve when it came to recording video and editing it.
