Getting from the airport to LISA

This year, I showed up to the LISA hotel a bit earlier than usual - partly because I felt like I missed out on things the last few times, and also because I've never really been to Boston, and I wanted to be able to take a little time to see the city, if at all possible.

My off-the-plane experience was a bit harsh, because the trip from Boston's Logan Airport is over six miles to the Sheraton.

The distance itself isn't so bad, but it's far enough that a taxi ride is between $40-$50, and the hotel shuttle is $17 per person. I was lucky enough to share a cab with some friends who were on my plane, but if you aren't in that situation, these are costs that you should be aware of.

We're fortunate to be right beside the Prudential Center, so there are some other mass transit options available. You can take the MBTA Subway (AKA The "T") for a couple of bucks (Blue Line from the airport to the Green Line transfer at Government Center). You can also get here via the bus, but it seems overly complex.

Expect to spend 15-20 minutes traveling by car and 45-50 minutes traveling by train.

Good luck, safe travels, and I can't wait to see you at LISA!

I've used the T to get to and from Boston conferences several times, and always enjoyed it. Of course, you would want to be travelling light if you're using the T.
