WOOT '08 Submission Deadline Extended: June 8, 2008

The submission deadline for the 2nd USENIX Workshop on Offensive Technologies (WOOT ‘08) has been extended.

Please submit your work by June 8, 2008.

WOOT '08 will take place July 28, 2008, in San Jose, CA. The workshop aims to bring together researchers and practitioners in system security to present research advancing the understanding of attacks on operating systems, networks, and applications.

HotSec '08 Submission Deadline: May 28, 2008

The HotSec submission deadline is tomorrow, May 28, 2008. Please submit all work by 11:59 p.m. PDT.

The 3rd USENIX Workshop on Hot Topics in Security is intended as a forum for lively discussion of aggressively innovative and potentially disruptive ideas in all aspects of systems security. Surprising results and thought-provoking ideas will be strongly favored; complete papers with polished results in well-explored research areas are discouraged. Papers will be selected for their potential to stimulate discussion in the workshop.

2008 USENIX/ACCURATE E-Voting Workshop Panel Proposals Due: May 2, 2008

The program committee for the 2008 USENIX/ACCURATE Electronic Voting Technology Workshop (EVT '08) is seeking proposals for panel sessions addressing topics of interest to the voting community. Proposals for panels should include a brief abstract, a list of possible panelists and their affiliations, and an indication of which of those panelists have confirmed participation.

Panel proposals are due May 2, 2008. Please submit proposals to evt08panels@usenix.org.

Tribute to Honor Jim Gray

Please join us May 31, 2008, at U.C. Berkeley for a Tribute to Honor Jim Gray. Gray is known for his groundbreaking work as a programmer, database expert, and Microsoft engineer. The tribute will include a general session followed by a technical sessions program. Speakers include Joe Hellerstein, Mike Olson, and Ed Lazowska. The event is sponsored by the Family of Jim Gray, ACM, USENIX, and EECS, UCB.

The registration deadline for technical sessions is Tuesday, April 15.
