As a computer architect bred in the Unix culture, I want to understand how the widespread adoption of Windows NT changes the dynamics of operating system/hardware interactions. I am interested in both measurement- and simulation-based perfeomance evaluation of present and future hardware running NT.

On a more pragmatic note, as our division at the University of Michigan migrates its standard computing platform from Unix to NT, I need to learn how to use NT effectively, particularly in a highly networked environment. I am particularly interested in tools which will allow distributed job execution on idle machines.
