One of our research directions is to make NT applications fault-tolerant and scalable. In the UNIX environment, we have developed a suite of software providing error detection, fail-over, clustering, file replication, transparent checkpoints, data persistence, and process migration. We have been porting the technologies to NT. In addition, we are modeling on the reliability of a distributed application built on either CORBA or DCOM framework. We are also looking into issues involved in the integration of an application with the Microsoft Transaction Server and the Wolfpack.
