Based in Stockholm, Sweden, Incolumitas is a company specialized in information security. Our main business is security reviewing including code inspection, analysis of weaknesses in network layout and verification of consistency between policy and implementation.

We also teach specialized courses in network management from a security point of view. Recently we have added Windows NT to our field of interest.

In our work with reviewing customers systems, we evaluate NT applications from a security perspective. Common problems are interoperability and problems related to porting from other environments. For the moment, we are particularly interested in the upcoming NT Kerberos support.

Cooperation between different types of computer systems brings us into networking and networking security. In the specific area of cooperation between UNIX and Windows NT systems we are testing and evaluating as many as possible of the available products, mainly from a security perspective.

When it comes to administration of larger systems, we often find it a problem getting the utilities needed for the task, and are as many others faced with the problem of finding a solution that fits a larger organization and its demands on usability and security. A lot of programs, both traditional UNIX ones and old DOS/Windows programs, have already been ported to Windows NT, not too many of them taking advantage of the security built into the operating system. This holds true for a great deal of apparently newly developed applications as well.

Personally, I have been working with system programming in Windows NT, mainly infra-structural components for integrating different platforms.
