I am a member of the group involved in a project to allow the Teradata database to operate on a parallel system, in which each node runs the NT OS. This project does not involve either

- trying to run on an NT clusters
- writing a distributed database

We are adding capabilities to NT, which will allow to create a unified system out of a collection of nodes, linked by the BYNET, our proprietary interconnect. We try to keep the data base code unmodified, and offer an interface layer for a NT OS (we already have this layer for Unix). Because of the very high level of collision (and hence interlocking) on common data structures, our layer will consist of both user and driver level code.
