Abstract:
My current research is in low-latency, high bandwidth networking under Windows NT as part of the Virtual Interface (VI) Architecture Specification initiative. My specific focus is in the area of hardware and software performance of the VI Architecture on commercially available interconnects.
I have been involved with research in the area of high performance networking with Windows NT at Intel Corp. for the past 2 years. This work focused on proprietary network interconnects of the type used in massively parallel super-computers.
Background on the VI Architecture Specification:
In April of 1997, Compaq Computer Corporation, Intel Corporation, Microsoft Corp. and other industry leaders announced an initiative to define high-speed communication interfaces for clusters of servers and workstations. The details of the VI Architecture Specification are currently available under NDA only.
