As the Executive Director of the PARALLEL Processing Connection, I am participating with a group of our members in studying the possible use of WindowsNT in Distributed Shared Memory systems. One of the problems we face is the need to maintain page table consistency across multiple instances of the OS (kernel). Another issue involves the shared use of synchronization primitives, i.e. mutexes, given the same OS scenario. Our group is interested in determining how to cope with these issues given the lack of full access to OS source.
