Steven Levy is a senior editor at Newsweek, writing "The Technologist" column as well as news and features. He has been covering the digital world for more than twenty years and is the author of six books, including Hackers, the classic history of the computer revolution; Artificial Life; Insanely Great, a history of the Macintosh; Crypto; and, most recently, The Perfect Thing, on the economic and cultural impact of the iPod.
